The UK Advanced Propulsion Centre has released a success story video of the ASCENT project (funded under the APC3 Call).  With Perkins Engines/Caterpillar, CMCL Innovations, Loughborough University and Imperial College London as partners, the project demonstrated exemplary team work to tackle real-world engineering challenges.

The main focus of the project was CO2 reduction in modern production engines for off-road applications. CMCL Innovations applied its high fidelity physico-chemical modelling toolkit “kinetics & SRM Engine Suite” along with its statistical and Machine Learning tool “MoDS” to develop the thermodynamic digital twin of the OEM engine, that can augment expensive measurement data for combustion characteristics and emissions with reliable model-populated results.
