The Horizon 2020 project OntoTrans completes its third year of activities by the end of March 2023. The month 36 consortium meeting of the project was held on 8-9 March 2023 in Avilés, Spain, and indicated the progress in the development of the platform as well as execution of the industrial user cases.
CMCL contributed to both development of the platform as well as acting as the industrial translator for the Section Mill user case, in which we work with ArcelorMittal as our partner and industrial end user of the OntoTrans platform to realise objectives namely time-to-market, digitalisation and decarbonisation via introduction of advanced digital solutions. Such solutions are aimed at offering deeper insight into the relation between mechanical properties of steel beams and process parameters.
OntoTrans is a Pan-European initiative focused on the development of a semantic Open Translation Environment (OTE) for materials modelling, to which CMCL also bring its know-how in enhancing data analytics and semantics within digitalisation.
